The Fleet
ms Amsterdam… the standard bearer
As the flagship of our five-star fleet, the ms Amsterdam is the standard
bearer - the very best of the best. Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in
Marghera, Italy, the Amsterdam gracefully combines classic and
state-of-the-art features. Fine woods, vibrant colors and original artwork
establish a traditional shipboard ambiance from stem to stern. Modern
additions include an Internet center, a sports bar and a children's activity
room.
ms Maasdam… spacious comfort
Grandly proportioned and designed to carry fewer guests than other ships in
her class, the ms Maasdam is among the most spacious ships at sea. Her
grandeur is evident in a soaring three-deck-high atrium featuring a
monumental glass sculpture by Luciano Vistosi of Italy. In the grand
Rotterdam Dining Room guest seating on two levels overlooks an antique
marble fountain from Argentina, and beyond - the sea.
ms Noordam… a true classic
Understated. Elegant. Warmly hospitable. You'll feel it the moment you step
aboard the classic ms Noordam. Built in St. Nazaire, France, this classic
vessel offers all the amenities of a great cruise ship: a magnificent teak
promenade deck that completely encircles the ship, expansive windows for
unobstructed ocean views, exceptional cuisine and dazzling entertainment in
a two-tiered show lounge.
ms Oosterdam… magnificent Vista Class
Introducing the ms Oosterdam (pronounced OH-ster-dam), second member of the
grand Vista-class ships defining the future of cruising. Oosterdam dazzles
guests with more of everything they desire in a cruise vacation: More
staterooms with verandahs for private sunning, dining and relaxing. More
dining choices including an intimate reservations-only restaurant. More ways
to relax in The Greenhouse Spa and Salon, largest and most luxurious spa in
our fleet.
ms Prinsendam… elegant explorer
Let the intimate ms Prinsendam welcome you aboard. Carrying fewer than 800
guests, Prinsendam offers a very special experience to those who voyage with
her. Forty percent of her spacious staterooms feature private verandahs for
sunning and relaxing. Additional comfort waits in the spa's warmly sensual
aroma-stone therapy. Guests may enjoy the cuisine of the Pacific Northwest
in the intimate, reservations-only Pinnacle Grill before attending
Broadway-style entertainment in the Queen's Lounge.
ms Rotterdam… flagship of excellence
Our sixth ship to bear the name, ms Rotterdam gracefully blends classic
features (fine woods, vibrant colors) with groundbreaking new elements
(Internet Center, boutique shopping, children's play room). Premium quality
pervades every inch of Rotterdam. A full 80 percent of the spacious
staterooms offer ocean views. Guests staying in Penthouse or Deluxe Verandah
Suites have exclusive use of the Neptune Lounge and its concierge. An
intimate reservations-only restaurant features cuisine of the Pacific
Northwest.
ms Ryndam… worldwide explorer
Designed to carry fewer passengers than others in her class, the ms Ryndam
is among the most spacious ships at sea and the perfect choice for those who
wish to see the world in style. Themed around Dutch worldwide exploration,
the décor features art and artifacts from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
Guests aboard Ryndam encounter elegance at every turn - from a string
quartet serenade in the splendid dining room to the two-deck Vermeer Show
Lounge named for the master painter.
ms Statendam… spacious comfort
The ms Statendam is a masterpiece of the shipbuilder's art. Luxurious,
technologically advanced, and, because she carries fewer guests than other
ships in her class, truly spacious. Experience a soaring atrium lobby, where
guests pause for espresso, shop exclusive boutiques, send e-mail and meet
friends for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Spectacular views of the sea and
horizon are everywhere - from the two-tiered dining room to suites and
deluxe staterooms with private verandahs.
ms Veendam… generous comforts
Grandly proportioned and designed to carry fewer guests than other ships in
her class, the ms Veendam offers guests an extra measure of space. Enjoy the
two-tiered Rotterdam Dining Room with grand sweeping staircase, and suites
with private verandahs for airy, outdoor relaxing and sunning. Multiple
lounges provide choices for leisurely evenings. A wide teak deck affords
ample room for strolling and deck chairs for those who wish to sit and watch
the sea roll by.
ms Volendam… garden of delights
The uniquely themed ms Volendam features flowers of all kinds throughout the
ship's artwork and interior design. This delightful motif unites Volendam's
combination of classic and state-of-the-art attributes. Special features
include plenty of the popular mini-suites with verandahs, an Internet Center
and boutique shopping. The reservations-only Pinnacle Grill experience
offers guests a unique dining option featuring food and wines of the Pacific
Northwest.
ms Westerdam… magnificent Vista Class
The Vista-Class ms Westerdam joins the Holland America Line fleet in spring
2004. On board, guests will enjoy a space-per-person ratio unsurpassed by
any other ship in a fleet already known for spacious comfort. In addition,
Westerdam has more of what guests desire: More staterooms with private
verandahs. More dining choices including the reservations-only Pinnacle
Grill experience, and the Lido Restaurant, a culinary courtyard. More ways
to relax in The Greenhouse Spa and Salon.
ms Zaandam… in harmony
The musically themed ms Zaandam offers a unique shipboard atmosphere. Her
décor includes artifacts and memorabilia representing various musical genres
- from a Baroque-style Dutch pipe organ in the atrium to guitars signed by
rock icons The Rolling Stones. Of course, guests enjoy Holland America's
signature offerings, such as world-class cuisine in the Rotterdam Dining
Room, which spans two decks and features Rosenthal china, starched linens,
silver and fresh flowers.
ms Zuiderdam… a pioneer
The ms Zuiderdam (pronounced ZI-der-dam) began her inaugural season in 2002
as the first of the new Vista Class - forward-looking ships in both design
and spirit. Zuiderdam trumpets the arrival of a new age in cruising. She
offers more staterooms with private verandahs, more dining choices and more
ways to relax and rejuvenate in The Greenhouse Spa and Salon, the largest
and most luxurious spa in our fleet.
